El Segundo is hiring lifeguard trainees and will complete its first application review Friday, October 9, 2026. Trainees must successfully complete the academy to earn the listed certifications and may then be appointed to a lifeguard position.

Why it matters: Trainees who successfully complete the academy will earn American Red Cross certifications in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers. They may then be appointed to a lifeguard position.
